Default What's the doomsaying like around here?

Hello, I came here from GWonline because I was just getting freaking annoyed that over 50% of the topics on the front general discussion page were talking about how GW is going to die/OMFG Anet hates its community and likes to make us cry!!!!1!!. So, I figured it was time for me to move on to a new GW fansite where you dont have to wade through tons of crap topics to actually discuss the game.

So my main point is, is their a ton of doomsaying/griping here too?

Thanks

Well, there will be plenty people proclaiming doom and such, but it's not much. There are about 2-3 three threads about it, afaik. Mods are killing the others

Not nearly as much. But there are a growing group of people that have the nerve to complain about the birthday presents when Anet didn't have to give them anything o.o

There is a somewhat different atmosphere at that other place, but people are people and some of them are members of both this and the other forum.

When I played WoW for 2 years, the official Blizzard forums were also filled with:

-Death of WoW!
-Nerfed Class = WoW Death!
-Buffed Class = WoW Death!
-Time for a new game, WoW is over!
-Raid size change means end of WoW!

And, so forth...

But, last I heard, WoW was still clunking along fairly well.

The Point: it happens with every game to which people become emotionally attached because change brings up feelings of insecurity and people have to voice their fears.

It's a very human thing to do.

Well, we also try to confine our doomsaying to one thread per topic.

We have great mods on this site who keep trolling under control, but an opinion, good or bad, is an opinion. Everyone is allowed to express their own.

Welcome to guru.

I find it very annoying, I'm surprised it's worse on GWO. Nope you feel it's better here. =\

Honestly its goign to be like this in every online game. I remembered Diablo had it, Everquest had it, DAoC had it, and so on... you just have to put aside the bullshit and play the game however you feel you need too.

Welcome to the GW Guru! I hope you enjoy your stay here. However short-lived it may be. Because you know, as well as everyone else, that when A-Net introduces cupcakes this weekend, that's it. GW will royallly suck and everyone will quit playing and A-Net and NCSoft will go bankrupt.

So true.. I guess I feel bad for the game makers. Sometimes Gaile's Job is to be a whipping girl and keep a smile.

All opinions about the griping/doomsaying aside, it's not really that bad here. People complain, but that's a given. Most topics are completely unrelated to "ZOMG HARD MODE I QUIT GG ANERF" or whatever. And a lot that are wind up getting closed/deleted anyway.
